Mekong Delta to Become a Friendly Destination
“Mekong Delta can be seen as one of the most attractive tourist destinations in Asia with beautiful natural landscapes, but it may soon lose this advantage due to rapid infrastructure development. And it take years to reinstate those precious values,” said Prof. Ernst Sagemueller, general director of the Europe-Indochina Institute for Tourism, at a recent conference entitled “Potential and Development Opportunity in Mekong Delta” in the city of Can Tho.

Buffalo bones
In parts of Ha Tay and Ha Nam provinces it is said people have been making combs from buffalo horns for centuries. Judging by their two main maxims, traditionally buffalo-horn craftsmen were pretty unforthcoming to outsiders who were curious about the craft.

Pacific Airlines offers free tickets to children under two years old
|
11 March 2008
From March 31, children under two years old will be entitled to travel with adults on Pacific Airlines free of charge, according to the company’s representative.
The policy will be applied to clients who book a ticket since March 10 for flights on March 31 or later. Pacific Airline currently charges VND150,000 for each passenger under the age of two on the route Ho Chi Minh City - Ha Noi.
Even customers who have already paid extra to allow a child under the two years old to fly can reschedule their flights and get a refund. Only 17 infants will be allowed to board on each flight.
Children under the age of two do not require seats of their own since they sit on their parents’ laps and are therefore exempted from paying a fare, said Mr. Nguyen Thi Thuy Binh, Deputy General Director of Pacific Airlines.
Vietnam Airlines is currently charging 10 percent of an adult fare for children under the age of two and 75 percent for children from two to 12 years old.
