La Residence Hotel & Spa is an elegant Art Deco hotel that used to be the French governor's residence in Hue in the 1920's.
Located on the river banks of the Perfume River in the city center of Hue, La Residence Hotel & Spa has taken great care to preserve the comforts and atmosphere of a classic colonial villa, with art deco interior design which evokes the glamour and style of old Indochina.
La Residence offers 122 rooms and suites, all with private balcony or terrace, as well as a luxurious spa, outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts, business center and meeting facilities, fine dining restaurant, quintessential lobby bar, and WIFI Internet in lobby and public areas.
The hotel is managed by the Accor Group.

Set on two hectares on the banks of the Perfume River overlooking the famous citadel and close to tombs built during the Nguyen Dynasty in the 1800s. Provides the perfect base to explore the city.

This is definitely the most
stylish hotel in Hue; it’s probably one of the
most stylish hotels in all of Vietnam.
Recently renovated - it used
to be called “5 Le Loi Hotel” – it is still at the same address, cased in the
French governor’s 1920’s residence. It
is situated on the banks of the Perfume
River about two
kilometers away from the cluster of tourist hotels.
Everything about this place
is well-done. The welcome drink served
upon check-in is a delicious and unique brew made from pandamus leaves. The lobby is full of natural light and the
adjoining bar and background music is hip.
The staff is a little stiff but nice enough.
The rooms have a really nice
feel, with beautiful tiling, comfortable beds, and clean bathrooms. Most rooms
have balconies.
There is a small but
adequate fitness center with nice views of the river, though the glass that
allows for the views also allows for a little too much sunshine, making the
room a bit hot. There is also a brilliant salt water pool that is one of the
highlights of hotel, with views of the river and comfortable chairs that are
perfect for whiling away an afternoon.
Overall, a great choice.
